NICK THOMPSON - Chief Executive

Nick is 45 and married with three children. He brings proven commercial experience to Life on Sunday and is joint founder of the vision to provide a national newspaper that reports the news with truth and integrity. He is an experienced newspaperman having held senior positions for four years at News International and then over five years at the Mirror Group. In 1996, he was appointed General Manager leading the successful launch team for ‘Sport First’, Britain’s first national sports newspaper. He has wide experience of business planning, financial control, sales and marketing, and information technology. As General Manager for three organisations in the past nine years, he has extensive experience of developing and implementing marketing and management strategies that deliver tangible results and ensure successful financial performance.

CHARLES GARDNER – Director and Editor

Charles, 53 and Cape Town-born, is joint founder of the Life on Sunday vision and brings over 30 years experience in both mainstream and Christian publications. This has included over 15 years with his current employers, Yorkshire Weekly Newspapers (part of Johnston Press), having been an editor with the group for much of that time. He previously worked as a London correspondent for the South African Press Association and later as a senior reporter with the Sheffield Morning Telegraph. He is now looking forward to leading the editorial side of Life on Sunday. In addition to his secular work, Charles has been involved with the successful launch of three Christian publications including New Life, a nationally circulating evangelistic tabloid. He has four grown-up children and now lives in Doncaster with wife Linda.

JOHN HUCKETT – Chairman & Non Executive Director

John, 64, is married with three adult children. He is currently Chairman & Managing Director of Crandelta International, a management consultancy company operating in 16 countries, and brings a wealth of business experience to the Life Newspapers Board. He has previously held senior positions in major international companies including Smiths Industries, Xerox Corporation and Thorn EMI. In 1988, he was appointed a Professor in The CIM Institute, Cranfield University. In 1992, he launched Crandelta International and his track record is recognised internationally, where he is a speaker on Business Excellence at conferences in Europe, the USA and India. As a committed Christian and lay preacher, he is looking forward to the successful launch of Life on Sunday.

DR CLIFFORD HILL – Director and Chairman of the Editorial Advisory Board

Clifford is recognised as a leading researcher, teacher and author on issues of social justice and moral righteousness. He has been Editor of PROPHECY TODAY for 18 years, a widely read, international Christian magazine. He has also published many books on the biblical prophets and other Christian topics. His forthright style and clarity of vision will ensure that Life on Sunday will speak with a prophetic voice into the very heart of the United Kingdom.
